Get Lost Flying Above the Dwarf Planet Ceres in New NASA Animation
9
09.06.2015
An animation of the Ceres shows the crags and craters of the dwarf planet in a unique way.
A new video from NASA shows an animated version of Ceres created from data collected by the space agency's Dawn spacecraft. The mysterious bright spots seen in a crater are even on display in the video. Scientists used 80 photos of Ceres taken by Dawn to make a model of the dwarf planet — the largest object in the asteroid belt between Jupter and Mars. The observations used for this video were made when Dawn was 8,400 miles (13,600 kilometers) and 3,200 miles (5,100 kilometers) from Ceres' surface.
