Buzzfeed: 'We Resist Pressure' From Advertisers

Being a new media company isn't always easy. With 200 million monthly unique visitors, BuzzFeed enjoys enviable success, but the road, particularity in recent months has been rocky.
Earlier this year, the site's Editor-in-Chief Ben Smith admitted to deleting thousands of posts; a handful of them in anticipation of advertiser displeasure. Reflecting on those decisions, Smith told Re/code's Peter Kafka that Buzzfeed is "learning in public," and making mistakes
However, when Kafka asked Smith, who was on stage with BuzzFeed founder and CEO Jonah Peretti, what actually happened, Smith said he didn't want to "get into the weeds," and pointed to the lengthy report BuzzFeed had already published.
