When Yahoo hired Katie Couric in 2013, it made a $6 million-per-year commitment to one of the biggest names in journalism. It was a big bet that Couric, a superstar of network television news, could put Yahoo News on the map.
Two years later, the tech company says Couric videos have been streamed around 140 million times in the past year. CEO Marissa Mayer has called their Global News Anchor a "good investment."
As of this month, Yahoo now pays Katie $10 million a year.
